Questions? We have answers.
Below are the most frequently asked questions we receive. If you have a question that isn't listed here, we'd be happy to answer it, just contact us.
How much will a website cost? Can I really afford it?
Your design project, whether it's a website, marketing materials, or a simple business card, should be viewed as an investment, which will pay dividends by increasing your business' visibility, enhancing its public image, and attracting new customers and clients. Doing it on the cheap might not be the best business move.
That said, every project we undertake is customized to meet your specific needs. The more elaborate your project is, the higher the cost. If you have budget parameters in mind, just tell us. As long as it's realistic, we'll work with you to find the best way to meet your needs and desires, while staying within the constraints of your budget. That may be easier than you expect.
If a project isn't a good fit for us, we may be able to recommend someone from our network of design, programming and marketing partners.
Why is custom design important? Can't I just use a "free template" or do it myself?
You get what you pay for. Working with a professional designer will give you the assurance that your project won't turn out exactly like a thousand other projects, that your business will be presented in the best possible light, and that your project will receive close, personal attention.

I've never worked with a designer before, so what can I expect? What's the process?
You can expect to be part of a working partnership from the signing of the contract to the delivery of the finished product. You'll find a full description on our Process page.
We highly recommend downloading the free ebook our Creative Director wrote, "50 Tips For Working With Designers". It's a quick read and covers the basics and more.

What if I don't see exactly what I want in your portfolio?
Check out our blog article that specifically addresses this topic in more detail: Why not seeing exactly what you want in a designer’s portfolio is a good thing.
How long will it take to complete my project?
With custom design, the time frame varies. It depends completely on the variables and specifications.
How soon can you start work on my project?
That will depend on our current workload, but almost all projects can be started within one week of signing the agreement.
Do you have references?
References will be provided upon request. You can also read comments from some of our clients sprinkled throughout our portfolio.
Do you provide web hosting?
No, but you can make arrangements with either of our web host partners, Canvas Dreams or Media Temple, or we can work with the hosting service of your choice (providing they're able to accommodate any specific needs of the project).
Do you do printing?
We can arrange printing for most projects. The price will depend on the design, quantity, and type of printed item, but it will be competitive. We also have eco-friendly printing options as well.
Do you do SEO?
We do custom marketing, social media and SEO consulting. For advanced SEO, we can refer you to a company that specializes in the field.
Do you guarantee your work?
Part of our standard contract spells out our guarantee that the work we do will be free of errors. Our design process has been laid out in such a way that the client approves and signs off on each milestone, in order to ensure satisfaction at every step of the process.
We also understand that sometimes project specifications might change and in that scenario we are happy to modify the work that is outside the scope of the original agreement by revising the agreement, cost, time frame, etc.
Do I own the copyright for the work you do for me?
All of our jobs are work-for-hire and it's clearly stated in our contracts that we transfer the copyright to you upon completion (and payment) of the finalized project.
Do you provide me with a way I can make updates to my website on my own?
Content Management Systems enable people to make updates to their own websites, run a blog, post videos, etc. We can certainly provide a CMS with your project but be aware that no matter how "simple" a system is, there is still a learning curve and you will still need to invest time in not only learning it, but also making the actual updates. You might find our article, Content Management Systems: Is your wish list realistic? helpful. If your time is valuable and better served on your own business tasks, let us handle your website maintenance. It's simple (just call or email us and explain what updates you need), hassle free and frees up your time.
Do you offer support and website maintenance?
Absolutely! Please contact us with your needs and we can take this to-do item off your list painlessly and efficiently.
